Landyn - Head Coach
As queer and trans people, we have unique and complex histories and relationships with our bodies and fitness.
I recognize the deep impact that diet culture, bro-y fitness grind culture, gender dysphoria, and queerphobia and transphobia has on our ability to connect authentically with our bodies. Mainstream fitness just doesn't serve our needs.
I myself started disassociating from my body from the onset of puberty at age 9. Receiving gender affirming testosterone and top surgery at age 19 made a world of a difference in my comfort with myself.
But, it wasn’t until I started lifting weights that I felt completely me. Fitness unlocked a new level of gender euphoria I didn’t know I was missing. I not only finally looked the way I always imagined myself, but my connection to my body made me happier, more confident and more free to explore everything this beautiful life has to offer. This feeling is exactly what I want my clients to feel and why I decided to be a coach.
Today, I’m proud to lead a team of all trans coaches who work together to empower our clients to take control of their health, write their own story and find the freedom and confidence that comes with a positive relationship with fitness and food.
My Coaching Philosophy
I believe in body autonomy. You have the right to choose what you want to do with your body and what’s the right approach for you.
For many queer and trans people - feeling embodied can come from finding joy in movement, learning to properly nourish themself, prioritizing valuable “me time” and celebrating what their body can do.
For others, changing the way your body looks is an important step for achieving gender euphoria and a sense of freedom in your presentation.
No two clients are ever the same and you won’t be given a 1-size-fits-all workout plan or generic meal plan here. We aim to meet each client where they are at - from beginners to lifelong athletes - by providing customized programming and support to help each individual reach their unique goals.
What’s more, I believe in a holistic approach to fitness and health that balances pushing you out of your comfort zone so you can see meaningful change AND practicing self-compassion and listening to your body authentically.
Whatever your goals are, they are valid and we will help you achieve it in a healthy, realistic and sustainable way that is mindful of your mental and emotional health.
Payton (he/him)
Success Coach
I started my own fitness journey as a way to create on the outside what I was feeling on the inside. Over time, the work of building my reality completely changed my life. I connected with my body by building strength and power through fitness and nutrition. Learning not only how to nourish myself and build muscle, but learning to love myself in the process.
I've been coaching professionally since 2020. I started out coaching at a functional fitness/crossfit gym, moved into more hypertrophy training, and then developed my own style of hybrid training blending lifting, mobility, and athletic style training.
I love to help people learn different types of movement so they can find something they truly enjoy while also achieving their aesthetic goals. Ultimately, my goal is to help other queer and trans folx harness their strength and resilience through movement. Empowering them to take control and create the version of themselves they want to be.
Tam (she/her)
Success Coach
This is Coach T here originally from Toronto, Canada. I grew up playing sports, primarily tennis and basketball, for many years of my life. Going into undergraduate university I struggled with body dysphoria as a non-binary person and wanted to make a change to my physique outside of sport. I started my personal training journey in 2018 and quickly found my passion for coaching.
My focus has always been “coaching from the heart” – a passion towards helping you become your best version of yourself. Someone who you are proud of and aligns with the way you feel and the body you want.
I have a background in Kinesiology and graduated Chiropractic college in 2023. I currently work part-time as a Chiro, but have always had a passion for helping people like me feel strong, functional and true to who they! I look forward to getting to know you guys and working alongside you to meet your goals.
Soph (he/they)
Success Coach
My name is Soph and I am located in Oakland, CA. I grew up playing a range of sports as a kid: baseball, waterpolo, track, wrestling and swimming. I have always liked to try everything, but I definitely found myself in track and lifting in high school. Being in the weight room always left me feeling powerful and I was lucky enough to have coaches that supported me along the way. I also began dancing in college where I found space to express my gender fluidity through movement in a way that felt healing and empowering.
As an adult, coming back to lifting with a new relationship to movement empowered me to connect to myself in a way that feels affirming and sustainable, not only in my body, but in my mind and heart.
I started transitioning in 2022 and I have been a coach since 2023 training clients 1:1 and coaching with group fitness gyms. It’s become my passion to help fellow queer and trans folks find routines that feel most affirming and sustainable to them. I think there is power in creating space for yourself in spaces that may not have always felt like home; gaining knowledge and perspectives that can help us build confidence in ourselves and the way we approach growth. I am honored to be a guide, coach, and friend in each client's journey. I look forward to meeting you all and welcoming this new experience together.
Em (they/he)
Programming Coach
My name is Em Bowen and I’m located in Tucson, Arizona. I grew up skateboarding, wakeboarding, and playing outside in sunny California. My first foray into competitive sport was cross country in high school. Later, I was introduced to rugby and played about 11 years before I retired.
I began my coaching journey about 8 years ago running sprint and agility workouts for my rugby team. It was shortly after that that I got into CrossFit as an athlete and later as a coach. I approach coaching and programming from a functional and strength-based perspective. I love supporting my beloved community in tapping into their bodies as centers of resilience and knowledge.
